On this site I document my quest for an unconventional full-time living with my music-making. And help you do the same with your creative passion.

What’s Your Story?

I actually was pursuing a music career before. Problem was, the music industry changed drastically this past decade. The traditional model is on life-support. Almost dead. Not for the U2s out there, but definitely for indie artists like me.

But learning about entrepreneurship, internet marketing, and blogging has empowered and given me confidence to pursue full-time music-making in an unconventional manner.

One where I’m in control of my own business and utilize the web rather than trying to force the old model into a wild west new one. And coming up with creative ways to monetize my music-making.

• Born in Russia, live in America (or wherever in the world).
• Fluent in Russian and English (and skoshi Nihongo).
• Got my $40k paper from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in ‘08.
• Produced tracks for artists that got on Chicago radio and Rawkus Records.
• Co-created music biz documentary, screened at Sacramento Film Fest.
• Co-built Audio Throttle online biz, got thousands of unique visitors/month.
• Been on multiple multi-week Alaskan adventures.

I make music in Live, write in Bean, and create graphics in Pixelmator, all on my laptop.
