Welcome to the eighth MokhovMix: Fly High. A gorgeous and dreamy mix of electronic dance tunes. The beautiful and airy melodies and vibes will lift your day.
I feel this is the best MokhovMix yet. The back-to-back tune selection gives me goosebumps. Listening back, this is why I fell in love with electronic music back in 1999. Simply emotionally hitting.
In fact, BT’s “Godspeed” is one of my favorite tunes of all time. Only fitting that I close out the mix with it. “Godspeed” is the tune that inspired me to start making music. After hearing it at a listening station in Meijer’s (unsexy, I know), I said to myself, “I have to know how to make music like this.”
Deadmau5’s “Jaded” is fantastic. Listening to it is pure bliss. I don’t know how I missed it earlier, but it’ll no doubt be my favorite tune of 2010. Deadmau5 continues to kill it in the electronic dance music scene – the most exciting house artist out there (along with Pryda).
And of course, I’m quite proud of my two original tunes featured here. Fits in with the theme of the MokhovMix nicely. Curious which ones they are while listening to the mix? They’re the only tunes with vocals here.
Enjoy.

Thank you for giving us this gift. i have everyone of your mixes and listen to them all the time..at work, in car, at home, iphone. We need more Mokhovs in the world. There are a ton of DJ’s out there and even more bloggers. You bring them both together to make a very cool brand and a cool site. thanks man!!
I agree Rich, these mixes are awesome. Oleg has a unique talent.
Oleg,
This is the first time I have listened to your music (I typically don’t listen to it much). I like it dude. I’m experimenting today to see if how productive I am with it on and how it affects my mood.
Will keep you posted.
Thanks for the gift my friend,
DD
ps…it’s funny because I heard your voice for the first time…weird because I had this idea in my head of what you would sound like and it was nothing like I thought
but in a good way
Sorry to clarify my previous comment, I don’t listen to much of any music (my sentence implies I don’t listen to your music much which is just wrong my friend
I love this mix, thank you so much for sharing it.
I like your style a lot! Out of your two awesome originals I preferred Tomorrow, not sure why exactly.
The first and last tracks are divine too. I could drink this stuff up all day and night. Looking forward to more of your mixes!
I’m calling this more or less Deep House, because it’s closer Ben Watt than anything else I can think of. So I’ll be sending my Deep House folks over this way.
Do you stream any of this stuff on iTunes channel? I mostly listen to Groovera.com, would love to find this on a channel.
Thanks for wanting to send your deep house folks over this way Dave – I appreciate it
I really dig Watt’s label, but none of his original work has really grabbed me. Maybe I’ve missed some killer tune of his. Recommendations?
And no, the MokhovMix podcast isn’t on iTunes. Should I put it up? It was one of those things I meant to do after the 1st 2 MokhovMixes but haven’t gotten around to. And I got the instructions for it bookmarked and all too
Thanks for stopping by and listening Dave. Looking forward to seeing you here again,
Oleg
Dude, didn’t read that you threw some of your own stuff in here, but going back and listening…your tracks are amazing!
We’re definitely going to get something together. You’ve got talent man.
Thanks man. Too bad people don’t buy records anymore (selling mp3s makes “beer money,” as you say), so I have to find creative ways to monetize that music talent. Like our new idea that’s a’ brewin’. Which’ll hopefully bear some juicy fruit.
Of course, I make tunes for my enjoyment, which is what’s most important. You gotta have that personal creative outlet, after all.
I’d like to learn some of that stuff. I’ve always been a music guy (played guitar, keyboard, sax, horn, etc)…never could learn the electronic stuff.
Here’s to making more than beer money!
You just gave an idea for an article (and potential future product): “The Quickstart Guide to Making Electronic Music”
Years ago I asked my (now) husband to buy me some sort of program to create electronic music. He did but it just didn’t run on our old machine back then. I think I managed to save about five minutes of tunes and then the PC crashed!
I’d love to have a go again one day and a Quickstart guide would be awesome. I’d hand over some $ for that Oleg.
Darn those crashing PCs *shakes fist*
That’s awesome, Michelle. Thanks for sharing, and also for confirming that this is something you’d be interested in. I could expand this idea into a mini-ebook, with images and videos.
I’m all for helping others delve into the awesome world of electronic music-making
Oleg
PS. I always thought Michelle is a great artist name. Probably because it sounds French, and anything French is classy. DJ Michelle!
Images and video – yes please.
Ha haa, well my middle name is of French origin too, so I’m all set to be an Aussie DJ with a classy French name, lol!
